SAINTS FALL IN REGULAR-SEASON FINALE
Saints will be sixth seed in upcoming PBC Tournament

Greenwood, SC – The North Georgia College & State University Saints held Lander scoreless in the first half, but were unable to stop a second-half surge by Lander, falling 5-0 in Peach Belt Conference action here Saturday evening.

The Bearcats broke the scoreless tie in the 53rd minute when Ivan Stoykov rifled a shot that Saints' goalkeeper Brandon Kirksey knocked away. Adam Arthur gathered the deflection and knocked home a shot from 18 yards out into the right corner. It was his 15th goal of the season.

The lead was pushed to 2-0 when Jamie Ramm scored in the 64th minute. Martyn Bell's corner kick reached Ramm and he redirected the ball into the net. The Bearcats struck again in the 72nd minute when Nick Cooke scored the first of his two goals off an Arthur chip.

Cooke scored his 16th goal of the season in the 84th minute when he connected on a header on a pass from Arthur. The final goal of the game came in the 88th minute when Antti Suoniemi scored his first goal of the season.

Lander (13-3-0, 5-2-0 PBC) outshot North Georgia (5-11-1, 3-4 PBC), 23-8. Kirksey recorded four saves in the loss.

The Saints will be the sixth seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference Tournament, and will travel to the third seed USC Aiken on Tuesday.
