NORTH GEORGIA FALLS TO ANDERSON
Trojans score pair of goals early in the second half
Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College & State University fell to Anderson University, 3-1, in a non-conference soccer match here on a blustery Saturday afternoon. The game was one of only two home contests left on the schedule for North Georgia.
After a scoreless first half, Anderson's Jon Scott scored the game's first goal following a corner kick from Jordan Kelly. The corner was knocked the ball around the box, and after a volley Douglas Nyame, Scott punched the ball into the net in the 47th minute for a 1-0 Anderson lead.
The Trojans added a second goal, just four minutes later, when Michael Zion one-timed a cross from Dave Taylor. The cross came from the right side in the 51st minute for a 2-0 Anderson lead.
Anderson scored their third goal of the match after a foul on Champ Young in the box led to penalty kick by Stephon Henry in the 68th minute.
Jeremy Bouasy scored the lone North Georgia goal in the 81st minute when he knocked home a flick from fellow forward to Eddie Collins to trim the lead to 3-1. The goal was Bouasy's team-leading eighth goal of the season.
North Georgia (4-10-1, 2-4-0 PBC) returns to action on Wednesday against USC Upstate at 7:30 pm. It will mark the final home game for the Saints, and a night in which the program will honor its seniors.
