ALVAREZ SELECTED TO PBC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Augusta, Ga. – Senior midfielder Rene Alvarez was named to the 2005 Peach Belt Conference men's soccer All-Conference team announced this weekend by PBC officials.

Alvarez, a 5-8 midfielder from Dahlonega, Ga., lead the Saints in points (22), goals (8), and assists (6) this season and was ranked in the top-10 in the conference in points, goals, and assists. He was named conference Player of the Week on October 4 and was also selected to the second team ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District. This weekend, Alvarez was also named to the PBC All-Tournament team after leading North Georgia to the semifinals of the conference tournament in the Saints first season in the league. Over the past two seasons, Alvarez has led the Saints to a 23-11-4 overall record and the programs first back-to-back winning season in over ten years.
