SAINTS OUT LAST WARRIORS 1-0 IN DOUBLE OT
Ciro Pelliccia records his third game winning goal

Central, S.C. - Junior forward Ciro Pelliccia (Conyers, Ga.) scored the game winning goal in the 105th minute to give North Georgia the 1-0 double overtime win over Southern Wesleyan and its seventh Southern States Athletic Conference victory of the season.

The Saints (10-3-2, 7-1-1-) out-shot the Warriors (9-7-0, 5-4-0) 29 to seven in the match, but were unable to get the ball past SWU goalkeeper Michael Nunley in regulation. Nunley recorded eight saves and allowed only one goal in 105 minutes for SWU. North Georgia also took 10 corner kicks to the Warriors one, but it was the final corner kick by junior midfielder Kent Thornton (Kathleen, Ga.) that Pelliccia connected on with a diving header to give the Saints the 1-0 victory.

SWU will face Reinhardt College tomorrow on the road at 2:00 pm. Next up for North Georgia is Georgia Southwestern University for their final regular season home match of the 2004 season. The match is tomorrow at 5:00 pm at the North Georgia Soccer Complex.
