#10 AUM UPENDS NORTH GEORGIA 10-1
Senior Midfielder Masego Ntshingane Nets Three Goals for Senators

Dahlonega, Ga. - The Saints faced their second nationally ranked opponent in a row and came up short as they were defeated by #10 Auburn University Montgomery 10-1. For North Georgia (3-3-2, 2-1-1) it was their first Southern States Athletic Conference loss of the season while the Senators (4-1-0, 3-0-0) stay a perfect 3-0-0 in the conference.

AUM never let up in the match as they out-shot the Saints 17 to seven and took seven corner kicks to North Georgia's five. The Saints defense was unable to stop the Senators attack as they gave up six goals in the first half and four goals in the second half.

Senior midfielder Masego Ntshingane (Gabarone, Botswana) scored the first two goals off the match off of assists from senior midfielder Bruno Murta de Resende (Belo, Horizonte, Brazil) to put AUM up 2-0 at the 28th minute. Resende added third assist of the match when he passed the ball to sophomore forward Hjortur Hjartarsson (Akranes, Iceland) who netted the ball from 22 yards out.

In the 32nd minute Ntshingane scored his third goal of the match off of an assist from senior defender Brendan Minors (Marietta, Ga.) to put the Senators up 4-0. Freshman forward Magnus Olafsson (Keflavik, Iceland) scored of corner kick and his score was followed by a 12 yard blast from freshman forward Jon Greta Olafsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) to give AUM a 6-0 lead after the first half.

The Senators continued to press in the second half and scored three minutes into the half off the foot of junior defender Patrick Thornqvist (Stockholm, Sweden). Hjartarsson scored his second goal of the match in the 72nd minute to put AUM up 8-0. Junior midfielder Terrance Johnson (Athens, Ga.) broke through the Saints defense and took the ball from midfield to score from the top of the box. The Senators final goal was scored by sophomore defender Kris Hudson (Marietta, Ga.).

North Georgia broke the shutout in the 86th minute when junior defender Rik Wyatt (Peachtree City, Ga.) netted the ball from the top of the box.

AUM will head to Brewton-Parker College this Saturday for another SSAC match-up starting at 2:00 pm. The Saints will be back on the road on Saturday as they head to Waleska to take on Reinhardt College at noon.
