ANDERSON, ROWE SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES, UPSTATE TOO MUCH
Saints fall to outside shooting of Spartans on Spirit Night
Dahlonega, GA - Junior guard Jay Anderson and sophomore center Anthony Rowe scored in double figures, but the Saints couldn't stop the trio of Daniel Quinlan, Luke Payne and Zac Rich from the outside Wednesday evening.
The Saints fell to USC Upstate 76-61 on Spirit Night in front of a sold-out crowd at Memorial Hall in Peach Belt Conference action.
North Georgia shot 41.5 (22-for-53) percent from the floor and 25 (2-for-8) percent from behind the arc. They also shot 71.4 (15-for-21) percent from behind the free throw line.
USC Upstate shot 54.3 (25-for-46) percent from the floor and 55 (11-for-20) percent from behind the arc. They also shot 62.5 (15-for-24) percent from behind the arc.
Anderson led North Georgia with 21 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the floor, while Rowe added 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor and 6-of-7 shooting from the free throw line. He also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Quinlan led USC Upstate (13-7, 5-4 PBC) with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor and 4-of-9 shooting from behind the arc. Payne chipped in 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor and 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc. Rich finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the arc.
North Georgia (4-17, 0-10 PBC) returns to action Saturday on the road against Georgia College & State University.
