SAINTS FALL TO GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN
Millsaps scores on four straight possessions in second half
Dahlonega, GA - North Georgia College & State University fell 78-64 to Georgia Southwestern State University in Peach Belt Conference action at Memorial Hall Saturday evening.
Georgia Southwestern used an inside-outside game of Adrian Robinson and Shawn King to build a 17-point advantage in the second half. However, the Saints' Jakirra Millsap scored on four consecutive possessions to trim the lead to 12 with under six minutes to play.
Along with Millsap, the rest of the Saints shot 58.5 (24-for-41) percent from the floor and 55.6 (5-for-9) percent from behind the arc. They shot 45.8 (11-for-24) percent from the free throw line.
Meanwhile, Georgia Southwestern shot 56.9 (29-for-51) percent from the floor and 42.9 (6-for-14) percent from behind the arc. They shot 60.9 (14-for-23) percent from the free throw line.
King led Georgia Southwestern (8-6, 1-3 PBC) with 30 points, while Robinson added 18 points and seven rebounds. Norbey Aragon added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Ross Knight added 10 points.
Millsap led North Georgia with 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor, while adding six assists. Anthony Rowe and Jay Anderson added 13 points, while Xavier Trice added 11 points and eight rebounds.
North Georgia (4-11, 0-4 PBC) returns to action on Monday against UNC Pembroke. Tip-off is set for 4 pm at Memorial Hall.
