North Georgia (2-2, 1-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead early in the ball game, but two three pointers by Jaguars (1-3, 0-1) freshman guard

Dean Brebner cut the lead to 10-9 with 14:04 left in the half. The Saints held the lead for the next seven minutes in the half, but a lay-up from freshman forward
Terrell Dobbins made the score 20-19 and gave ASU its first lead of the game. The Saints struggled to keep with the Jaguars in the closing minutes of the half, but were able to keep the Jaguars advantage to only four points. A three pointer with 1:04 left in the half by senior guard
Mark Causey cut the ASU lead to 36-35 heading into halftime.
Scott was 6-of-8 from the three-point line in the first half and scored 20 of the Jaguars 36 points. Causey led the North Georgia charge with 16 points and six rebounds to keep the Saints in the game.
In the second half, North Georgia jumped out to a six-point lead, but ASU climbed back in the game off of a 7-1 run to make it a 46-45 game with 15:43 left to play. The game continued to go back-and-forth, seven lead changes in the half, before the Saints took the lead for good off of a three-pointer from Wehunt with 5:41 left to play. With the Jaguars forced to foul, North Georgia hit its free throws down the stretch to take the victory.
Wehunt lead all scorers with 28 points followed by Causey who added 23 and eight rebounds. Junior guard Matt Causey added 14 points and five assists and senior forward Marcus Robinson added nine boards. ASU was led by Scott who finished with 22 points off of 6-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Senior guard Karim Telfer added 17 points and a game high nine assists in the effort.
North Georgia will play against this weekend as they take on USC Aiken in their second conference game of the season. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. in Aiken, S.C. The Jaguars will face Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
