#20 SAINTS TAKE EAGLES TO OT IN 112-108 WIN
NGCSU Head Coach Chris Faulkner Picks Up 100 Career Win

Dahlonega, Ga. – A combined total of nine players scored in double-digits, led by Reinhardt College senior wing Chris Jones (Chicago, Ill.) who had a double-double, to give the fans at Memorial Gymnasium an exciting overtime finish as North Georgia defeated the Eagles 112-108.

Jones led four RC (14-7, 9-4) players with 40 points and 10 rebounds, while junior wing Brandon Jennings (Canal Winchester, Ohio) had his own double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Five Saints (15-5, 10-2) were in double digits led by sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) who dropped 38 points for the second game in a row. Senior forward Canaan Brown (Buford, Ga.) had his own double-double with 13 points and a game high 15 rebounds.

The action began with the tip-off in the first half as the Eagles took control early on and climbed out to a seven-point lead. Led by Jones' 15 points in the half, RC only let North Georgia take the lead once in the half. Slowly the Saints chipped away at the lead until the score was 45-44 heading into intermission.

In the second half, North Georgia jumped out with the lead and had a 10-point lead with 10 minutes left in the ball game. But just like the Saints in the first half, RC continued to fight back until they took the lead off of a Jones jumper that made the score 75-74 with less than six minutes left to play.

With three minutes left to play, North Georgia was down by nine points, but an 11-5 run in the final minutes got the Saints to within three with 14 seconds left on the clock. With time winding down, Causey flew down the court and put up a runner from behind the three-point line that went in to send the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Saints went on a 6-1 run to open the period and had a 96-91 lead with three minutes to go. The Eagles cut the lead to one twice in overtime, but North Georgia hit their free throws when they needed to and won the game 112-108.
