#25 SAINTS SKATE PAST BARONS 79-75

Mt. Vernon, Ga. – Shooting 30-for-57 from the floor, #25 North Georgia College & State University outlasted Brewton-Parker College 79-75 Thursday night in men's basketball action.

Four Barons' scored in double figures with Justin Bees scoring a game high 24 points. Bees shot 10-for-12 from the field and hit a single three pointer and all three of his free throw attempts. As a team though, BPC shot 48% (29-for-61) from the floor in the game. Ben McGlynn added 15 points, followed by Adrian Sing with 13 and Trey Hill with 10 points.

Conference leading scorer, sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.), led the Saints once again with 22 points and six assists. Senior wing Bryce Brickhouse (Norcross, Ga.) scored 20 followed by junior guard Mark Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) with 16 points. Sophomore forward Mark Trust (Winder, Ga.) narrowly missed another double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points.

BPC falls to 16-15 overall and 8-13 in conference play. The Barons will play again this Saturday at Shorter College at 4:00 p.m. in their final regular season game before the tournament.

With the win, North Georgia improves to 21-9 overall and 15-6 in the Southern States Athletic Conference standings. If the Saints can win their final home game Monday night, North Georgia will lock up the second seed in the conference tournament and a possible bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

In the final home basketball game as an NAIA member for NGCSU, the Saints will host Faulkner University at 8:00 p.m. Monday night in Memorial Gymnasium.
