#21 SAINTS GRAB OVERTIME WIN FROM BERRY 104-98

Dahlonega, Ga. – For the second straight game in Memorial Gymnasium, #21 North Georgia College & State University won an overtime game as they defeated Berry College 104-98 in front of a noisy Spirit Night crowd.

The Vikings (16-8, 9-5) held the lead for much of the first half after securing the lead off of a three pointer from senior guard Cameron Fitch (Acworth, Ga.). With 4:15 left to play in the half, sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) drilled a three point shot to tie the score 35-35. BC though went on a 14-6 run to close the half and take a 49-41 lead heading into the second half.

North Georgia (17-6, 11-3) was once again forced to play catch-up as the second half began. The Vikings posted their first double-digit lead of the evening after senior forward Jonathan Reddell (Kennesaw, Ga.) made a three point basket to made the score 72-62 with 12 minutes left in the game. The Saints once again made a comeback and tied the score at the 6:22 mark off of a lay-up from junior guard Mark Causey (Gainesville, Ga.). With the score tied at 80, the lead went back and forth five times until a missed jumper from Matt Causey forced overtime.

In overtime, North Georgia went on a 5-0 in the first three minutes to take the lead for good. With a seven-point lead with less than one minute remaining in the game, the Saints took the victory 104-98.

BC posted five players in double figures with Fitch leading the way with 29 points and seven assists. Senior guard Kirk Feinswog (Baton Rouge, La.) added 18 points with senior forward Ben Elliot (Marietta, Ga.) adding 16.

Matt Causey posted his fifth double double of the season with 32 points and 11 assists. Brother Mark Causey was four of six from the three-point line and scored 22 points with six assists and six rebounds. Senior wing Bryce Brickhouse (Norcross, Ga.) scored 21 points as well for North Georgia.

Berry will host cross-town rival Shorter College this weekend at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. In the Saints next contest, the men's team will visit Emmanuel College on Saturday for a game scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
