NORTH GEORGIA BASKETBALL LISTED IN LATEST NAIA STATISTICS
Dorminey and Williamson Listed First in Blocks and Free Throws
Dahlonega, Ga. - North Georgia College & State University men’s and women’s basketball teams are listed among the leaders in the latest statistics announced this week.
For the women’s team, junior guard Katie Williamson (Suwanee, Ga.) is ranked number one in free throw percentage, currently shooting 92.6 from the line. Junior forward Jeanine Dorminey (Tifton, Ga.) is also listed first in blocks with 3.94 per game. Dorminey is also listed 16th in defensive rebounds per game (5.67 rpg). As a team, the Lady Saints are second in blocks (6.22 bpg), fifth in free throw percentage (76.0%), sixth in total offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds (28.39 rpg each), 12th in defensive field goal percentage (35.6%), 13th in field goal percentage (45.4%), 16th in total offensive rebounds (41.67 rpg), and 17th in scoring (75.61 ppg) and total rebound margin (+6.22 rpg).
On the men’s side, sophomore guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) is ranked in three statistical categories. He is fifth in the nation in assists (6.12 apg), 11th in free throw percentage (85.9%), and 18th in scoring (19.24 ppg). Sophomore forward Mark Trust (Winder, Ga.) is listed 18th in blocks with 1.59 blocks per game. Junior guard Mark Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) is 19th in steals with 2.24 steals per game. The Saints are also listed sixth in free throw percentage (74.8%), seventh in scoring (84.77 ppg), and tied for 13th in field goal percentage (49.5%).
Both the men’s and women’s teams are currently ranked in the top-25 in the NAIA, second in the Southern States Athletic Conference, and riding a five game win streak. The Saints are back in action tomorrow as they head to Faulkner University to take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The Lady Saints will play again this weekend at 3:00 p.m. to kick off the Homecoming festivities for NGCSU.
