NORTH GEORGIA'S MATT CAUSEY SELECTED
NAIA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dahlonega, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University guard Matt Causey (Gainesville, Ga.) is the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics men's basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 25.

Causey, a 6-0 sophomore from Berkmar High School, averaged a double-double this week in two games with 31.5 points per game and 10.0 assists per game. He led the #25 Saints to a 93-83 win over Faulkner University and a 110-81 win over Lee University last week. In those games, he scored 25 and 38 points and had 10 assists in each game. Causey was selected as Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts.
Currently, Causey is ranked fifth in the nation in assists (6.33 apg), eighth in free throw percentage (87.0%), and 14 th in scoring (19.56 ppg). He has tallied four double-doubles this season and has scored 20 or more points in 10 of the Saints 19 games. Causey leads the SSAC in scoring and assists and is ranked sixth in steals (1.89 spg). He has led North Georgia to a 14-5 overall record and a 9-2 mark in the conference.

Causey is the second SSAC men's basketball player to be selected for NAIA Player of the Week this season. On January 11, Georgia Southwestern State University senior forward Dontae Truitt (Baltimore, Md.) was selected as national Player of the Week.
