Greg Murray enters his second season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program at North Georgia College & State University.

Murray comes to North Georgia from nearby Lumpkin County High School, where he was the head girl's basketball coach from 2004 until 2007. During that time, he led the team from a 9-15 record in 2004-05 to a 17-10 record in 2006-07. He was named the Region 8 AA Coach of the Year during the 2005-06 season. While at Lumpkin County, he also taught Special Education.

Murray is no stranger to the basketball floor, as he was a two-year letterwinner at North Georgia under current athletic director, Randy Dunn. He was awarded the Hustle Award in both his junior and senior seasons, and was named a co-captain during his senior season.

Before arriving at North Georgia, Murray starred for two years at nearby Truett McConnell Junior College, lettering in basketball for two seasons. While at Truett, he was named the Student-Athlete of the Year as a freshman and was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player as a sophomore.

Murray was prepped at Richmond Hill HIgh School, where he helped lead his team to the Class A State Championship during his junior and senior seasons.

Murray graduated with an Associates Degree in Arts in 1999, and a B.S. in Special Education in 2002 from North Georgia.
