Box Score
CARROLLTON, GA – North Georgia College & State University extended their winning streak to six games Tuesday afternoon, pulling out a 10-9 victory in ten innings on the road against West Georgia in non-conference action.
With two out in the 10th inning, Rob Flanigan provided the fireworks again, singling up the middle to bring Craig Brisson home for the game-winner. Garrett Lussi came on in the bottom of the inning and slammed the door, tossing a perfect inning to save it for Jacob Rickett (3-2) who picked up the win in relief.
A slugfest opened up at Cole Field as the Saints and Wolves combined to score 19 runs on 25 hits in ten innings of play. North Georgia pushed their first runs across in the second inning as Kevin Morrison sent a three-run homer to right field, giving the Saints a 3-2 lead.
Andre Airich would add to the lead an inning later with a leadoff solo blast to left center, and RBI hits from Josh Tate, Brisson, and Morrison in the ensuing innings gave North Georgia a 7-2 lead in the sixth. The Wolves would fight right back in the bottom of the sixth and seventh as Abell homered and Jones and King notched RBI base knocks to tie the game 7-7.
Both teams scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning to set up the tenth inning 10-9 win by the Saints for their sixth consecutive win.
North Georgia (24-16, 11-10 PBC) will head to South Carolina to take on Anderson University Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. before traveling to Armstrong Atlantic State University for a three-game weekend series with the 24th-ranked Pirates.
