SAINTS HOLD ON IN NINTH, DOWN BOBCATS 7-6

DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia College & State University survived a two-out rally in the ninth inning to get by GCSU 7-6 Friday night in Peach Belt Conference action.
North Georgia was led to victory by Chris Curtis (3-1) who pitched his best game of the year in route to the victory. Curtis lasted into the eighth inning, allowing just one earned run while striking out eight.
Kevin Morrison led the Saints at the plate, producing a pair of RBI singles, the second giving North Georgia the lead for good in the third inning. Rob Flanigan got a two-run fifth started with a leadoff home to left, heading into the ninth with the Saints leading 7-3.
After two quick outs in the ninth, the Bobcats woke up and put three runs on the board, but freshman Jacob Rickett came in and shut the door, picking up the save and preserving a 7-6 PBC victory.
North Georgia (11-11, 5-5 PBC) will look to take the series win over GCSU tomorrow afternoon with a double header scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
