#29 SAINTS PULL OUT 5-4 WIN OVER FLAGLER IN 12TH
North Georgia ends regular season winning 3 of 4 in Florida

ST. AUGUSTINE , FL – North Georgia College & State University lost a late-inning lead Friday evening, but pulled out a 12-inning 5-4 win over Flagler College in non-conference action to put a lid on the regular season.
North Georgia ends the regular season ranked #29 in the nation with a record of 37-19, and will head into the post-season as winners of 19 of their last 22 and the #4 seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference tournament. Flagler drops to .500 at 25-25 for the season.
Flagler jumped on top in the second inning with three runs on as many hits for the early lead. Joey Rivera got the scoring started with a double down the left field line to plate the first two runs of the game. Taylor Mathis followed later in the inning with a two-out single through the right side, bringing Rivera home to make it 3-0.
North Georgia would add a single run in the third inning with a Craig Brisson single through the right side, scoring Kevin Morrison and making it a 3-1 game.
The Saints would pull to within a run in the fifth on a fielding error to make it 3-2, and Rob Flanigan put North Georgia in front, doubling down the left field line to plate Josh Tate and Morrison for a 4-3 lead.
That score would hold true until the bottom of the eighth when Flagler loaded the bases and Rivera coaxed a one-out walk to bring Glenn Kiture trotting home from third, tying the game at four and sending both team's regular season finale into extra innings.
After a scoreless 10th and 11th innings, North Georgia came out and put a run on the board as Tate grounded out to the pitcher, scoring Anders Oster to give the Saints a 5-4 lead. Zach Black would come back out toss a perfect 12th to give North Georgia a 5-4 victory and series win.
Black (3-3) picked up the win with 4.1 innings of work out of the pen, allowing just two hits while striking out a pair.
North Georgia (37-19) will travel back to campus this eveing and prepare for their first-ever Peach Belt Conference baseball tournament as the Saints are set to face Francis Marion University in the first round Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m.
