TIGERS FALL TO SAINTS 2-1
Livingston, Al. – North Georgia (16-11) scored the go ahead run on a sacrifice fly, with one out in the top of the ninth inning, to walk away with a 2-1 victory over West Alabama at Tartt Field on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning, when Corey Coward scored from second on an RBI single to left field off the bat of Jacob Townsend. The Saints then tied the score at 1-1 off an RBI single by Kyle Potts in the second and that's the way it stood until the ninth.
Brent Telano took the loss for the Tigers in relief, going 1.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out two. Jeff Mason started for UWA, going a strong five innings, giving up just one run on four hits, to go along with five strikeouts.
Mark Thomas picked up his third win of the season for the Saints, throwing a complete game six-hitter, allowing only the one run, while striking out six.
Potts finished 1-for-3 with an RBI for North Georgia, while Erik Good drove in the final run for the Saints.
