LAUDERDALE SIGNS WITH SAN DIEGO PADRES
Dahlonega, Ga. – Former North Georgia College & State University’s four-year baseball starter Brian Lauderdale signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Padres organization.
In his tenure at North Georgia, Lauderdale, a native of Roswell, Ga., was a standout player on the field throughout 246 games. He held a .363 career batting average, scored 266 runs, had 324 hits, 171 RBIs, 52 doubles, and 20 homeruns. In addition to his outstanding hitting ability, Lauderdale stole 100-of-113 bases setting a NGCSU record. On defense, he maintained a .963 fielding percentage by tallying 491 assists, 464 putouts, and turning 102 double plays (also a NGCSU record).
Lauderdale was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, PBC Player of the Week on May 8, 2006, ABCA/Rawlings All-South Atlantic Region Player of the Year, first team All-South Atlantic Region, first team NAIA All-American, first team NAIA All-Region XIII, SSAC All-Conference team, SSAC All-Academic team.
