LAUDERDALE NAMED PBC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Aiken, S.C. The Peach Belt Conference released the 2006 PBC All-Conference team on Wednesday night at a banquet on the eve of the conference tournament, and North Georgia’s senior Brian Lauderdale was named the PBC Player of the Year.

Lauderdale hit .391 for the Saints in their first season of PBC play. The senior from Roswell, Ga., was ranked sixth in the PBC in hitting and led the league in hits, runs scored and stolen bases. He also led his team in slugging percentage and doubles, collecting five home runs and 40 RBIs during the year. Lauderdale was also the Saints lone selection on the All-Conference team. It is his second consecutive season being selected to an All-Conference team. Earlier this week Lauderdale was also named PBC Player of the Week, the first spring sports player of the week for North Georgia. He is also the first North Georgia player in any sport to be named a PBC Player of the Year.
