#7 SAINTS ROLL PAST PANTHERS 22-2

Dahlonega, Ga. – Seventh ranked North Georgia College & State University pounded out 22 runs off of 14 hits to defeat Claflin University 22-2 Sunday afternoon at the NGCSU Baseball Complex.

The Saints scored in each of the six innings they batted, with four runs scored in the first three innings and five runs put on the board in the sixth inning.

Junior centerfielder Clayton Rhoads (Suwanee, Ga.) led North Georgia at the plate, going three-for-four with two runs scored and five RBI's. Junior shortstop Kyle Potts (Jefferson, Ga.) continued to hit well in the series, as he went one-for-two with five RBI's. Potts tallied 10 RBI's off of five hits in the three game series this weekend.

Senior starting pitcher Jason Willard (Columbus, Ga.) picked up his second win this season after pitching five strong innings. He allowed only one hit and struck out three batters. Panthers freshman starter Gabriel Rivera (New York, N.Y.) took the loss after pitching two and one-third innings and allowing 11 runs off of six hits.

The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. as they play Reinhardt College in a non-conference game at the NGCSU Baseball Complex.
