SAINTS SPLIT SSAC DOUBLEHEADER WITH SENATORS
Dahlonega, Ga. – After winning the first two games in the series, North Georgia College & State University dropped the final game of SSAC weekend to Auburn University Montgomery to split the Saturday double header 12-3 and 2-1.
Game 1
The Saints wasted no time getting on the board putting up 6 runs in the first inning. Freshman designated hitter Erik Good (Dahlonega, Ga.) led the rally with a three RBI triple to center field in the inning. North Georgia would tack on 1 run in the fourth inning and added 2 more in the fifth when a David Chastain (Canton, Ga.) single to center field scored Ryan Gurley (Jefferson, Ga.) and Creston Warner (Jacksonville, Fl.). North Georgia went on to add 3 final runs in the sixth inning.
Auburn Montgomery scored their only runs in the sixth inning when a three-run homerun blast by right fielder Ryan Wilson (Ozark, Al.) drove in Jeremy Liveley (Adamsville, Al.) and Matt Burgess (Orangebeach, Al.).
Senior starter Justin Stowe ( Marietta, Ga.) picked his fifth win of the season, pitching six strong innings and striking out five batters. Senior starter Dane DeValk (Daphne, Al.) picked up the loss for the Senators after going only one-third inning.

Game 2
Game two turned out to be a battle between senior starting pitchers with North Georgia ending up on the losing end, falling 2-1 in the final game of the SSAC weekend series Saturday afternoon at the North Georgia baseball complex.
The game would remain scoreless until the sixth inning when Auburn Montgomery drew first blood and took a 1-0 lead thanks to a Britt Clayton (Tallassee, Al.) single up the middle which scored Ryan Wilson (Ozark, Al.). The Senators would go on to push the score to 2-0 in the sixth when senior Josh Forbus (Montgomery, Al.) crossed the plate on a Jonathan Adams (Dothan, Al.) right field single.
North Georgia would score their only run in the bottom of the seventh off a solo homerun by designated hitter Erik Good (Dahlonega, Ga.). The Saints ended the game scoring only run with off seven hits while comitting no errors.
Auburn Montgomery starting pitcher Nick Singleton (Montgomery, Al.) earned the afternoon win after pitching the complete 7 innings. Singleton faced 27 North Georgia batters, striking out 8 and walking only two.
Saints senior starting pitcher Jason Willard (Columbus, Ga.) was charged with the loss and drops to 7-2 for the season after pitching 6 strong complete innings. Willard faced 26 batters and struck out 6 for the game.
North Georgia ( 28-10, 13-8 SSAC) will return to action on Friday, March 25 when they travel to Franklin Springs, Ga., for a 2:00 p.m. game against SSAC opponent Emmanuel College.
The Senators (18-17, 12-9 SSAC) will take on the visiting College of the Ozarks in a doubleheader on Monday at 2:00 cst in Montgomery.
