Jeff joined the advancement staff at North Georgia in late January of 2001, where he manages the fund raising programs of the university, and serves as director (chief operating officer) of the university foundation. He has more than 19 years of experience in alumni and development work.
Jeff came to Dahlonega from Banner Elk, NC, where he served as Senior Director of Development at Lees-McRae College. His previous service includes Director of Advancement and Chief Operating Officer of the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation in Charlotte, NC; Director of Development & Alumni Affairs at The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, AL; and Director of Alumni & Parents Programs at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.
Prior to his work in higher education, Jeff served as an Infantry officer in the U. S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain. He then worked in municipal government for the City of Charlotte, NC.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Wofford College, where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
A native of Western North Carolina, Jeff is the oldest son of a retired Methodist minister, and is very active in his church. He chairs the organizing committee for the Community Foundation for Lumpkin County. He is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the United Way for Lumpkin County (GA), and former chairman of Spartanburg AWARE - the adult literacy agency for Spartanburg, SC. He has served as a volunteer alumni relations consultant to several small colleges in the southeast, and as volunteer fund raising and board development consultant for several church and community organizations.
