Welcome to the NGCSU Alumni Association...
The NGCSU Alumni Association was incorporated in 1971 as a Georgia non-profit corporation with the following stated purposes:
- To promote social interaction among its members.
- To promote the interest and welfare of the university.
- To promote university educational programs designed for students, former students, and potential students.
The Association is governed by an 18 member Alumni Council. The five officers and thirteen members of the council are elected by the general membership, for two year terms, during the annual meeting. The Council operates on a committee system and generally meets four times each year to take formal actions.
Initially there was no formal membership program and the Association income was very limited. Council research showed that most effective alumni associations had official membership programs and that dues were the major source of income. The council adopted a dues program in 1982 with a long range membership goal of twenty-five percent of eligible alumni. Eligibility requires two semesters or more as a student in good standing at NGCSU.
