Duties:
- Review Alumni Center facility furnishings, equipment, decorations, and utilization and make appropriate recommendations to the Executive Director.
- Recommend policy for acceptance of in-kind gifts to the present NGCSU Museum. Evaluate and accept or reject proposed memorabilia gifts and loans to the Association not covered by existing policy. Develop courses of action for maintaining, storing, and displaying memorabilia and items of historical significance.
- Consider special requests for new projects and programs beneficial to alumni, students, faculty and staff, and make appropriate recommendations to the Alumni Council. Develop new programs and/or evaluate existing projects as requested by the Association President and/or Executive Director.
- The committee will administer the Killed In The Line Of Duty Memorial, to include review and ruling on nominations in accordance with the U.S. Armed Services Regulations, recognition, engraving, and dedication. Names will be engraved on the memorial in the random order in which they are received and approved by the Special Projects Committee.
Responsibilities for the following areas:
Alumni Center
- Tour Alumni Center and Grounds - evaluate needs.
- Recommend to Executive Director those needs.
Museum
- Review Policy - focus on “Acceptance Rule” and record keeping.
- Review layout of Price Memorial and items to be displayed.
- Re-evaluate vocal history program - collecting alumni audio interviews and stories.
Special Projects
- Receive and identify special requests that support the over-all mission of the NGCSU Alumni Association.
- Evaluate and recommend special requests to the Alumni Council and/or Executive Director.
- Review nominations for the KLOD Memorial and make recommendations to the Council.
