Bio:

Mark has been with North Georgia and the Alumni office since 1992. He is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and was raised in Athens, Georgia where he graduated from Clarke Central High School in 1982. He received a BBA in Management from North Georgia in 1987 and commissioned into the U.S. Army. He branched infantry and spent most of his military career with the 10th Mountain Division. While in the army, he earned the Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, Multinational Force and Observer Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Commendation Medal with bronze leaf, and the rank of captain.

Mark is married to the former Stacey M. Potect. He has a daughter, Heather, from a previous marriage who is a junior in high school.

Responsbilities:

The Director will provide leadership for the development of a comprehensive and integrated alumni relations program that will result in sustained and increased participation in NGCSU alumni events and increased alumni gift support for NGCSU. Responsibilities include serving through an organized program of events and communications as the institution ' s liaison to current and future alumni. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, chapter events, reunions, alumni homecoming activities, the quarterly alumni newsletter, and Parents-Alumni Weekend. Goals include developing new outreach activities to engage NGCSU alumni and increasing alumni giving participation rates. Manages the administration and operation of the NGCSU Alumni Association and the NGCSU Alumni Council. Greet and assist alumni and visitors.
