Healthcare premiums for currently existing healthcare plans will increase between 11% - 14% this year. The University System of Georgia pays 75% of the cost of healthcare premiums, while covered employees pay 25% of the cost.

We continue to explore ways of keeping the cost of health insurance as low as possible. This year we have added new healthcare option - the High Deductible Healthcare Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account. Be sure to review this plan carefully before deciding whether it is right for you.
