Requirements

 

Requirements – MS in Nursing Education (MSNE) Program
In order to be eligible to apply to the graduate program a candidate must have:

1. BS in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. RNs with a BS in a related field
    may be admitted with a specialized program of study determined by MS Program Coordinator.
2. One year post-licensure clinical work experience.
3. Current Georgia RN license.

Those who are eligible to apply should:

1. Submit an application to the office of Graduate Admissions as well as:
    a. Transcripts from all institutions attended
        (minimum GPA of at least 2.75)
    b. Three letters of recommendation.
    c. Certificate of immunization form.
    d. Complete the GRE or MAT exam with satisfactory scores.

2.  Submit an application to the Department of Nursing MS in Nursing Education Program .

Prior to enrollment students must show proof of current liability insurance, evidence of current CPR certification, and complete the Department of Nursing health form and record of immunizations.

Admission Status:
The MS in Nursing Education Program follows the guidelines for admission as outlined in the NGCSU Graduate Bulletin. Graduate admission does not guarantee admission to the MS Nursing Education Program.

Post-Masters Certificate Students for the MSNE Program must hold a graduate degree in Nursing from an accredited program. The MSNE certificate program is 15 semester hours in length.

General Information:
Each new cycle of courses will begin during Fall Semester. The deadline for admission application is May 15 of each year. Students may enroll in core courses on a part-time basis throughout the year once admitted to the graduate school. Enrollment in nursing education courses is restricted to students who are admitted to the MSNE Program. Individuals will be notified of whether or not they are accepted in the MSNE Program following the application deadline. Admission to the graduate school and completion of core courses does not assure acceptance to the MSNE Program.
