The Nora and Joe Richardson Society for School-based leadership is a forum for the study and professional development of leadership in schools. Named in honor of Nora and Joe Richardson, life-long educators, the Society provides NGCSU faculty, staff and students opportunities to collaborate with education professionals outside of the university on ways to promote leadership through all levels in the schools. Activities of the Society are designed to enhance the leadership capacity among educators and within our schools to ensure that our children and youth have access to the best educational opportunities available. Also in the area of regional development, the School of Education will continue to expand its partnership with area schools and agencies. For example, we currently partner with Pioneer RESA (the area Regional Education Service Agency serving 13 school districts in the North Georgia area) to provide initial teacher certification programs and the Rising Stars Leadership certification program for aspiring school leaders. Our faculty also have contracts and service agreements with local schools and agencies to provide graduate assistants in exercise science and athletic training, as well as to deliver teacher certification endorsement programs and consulting services to local schools. |
