Master of Education with an Emphasis in Physical Education
Required Courses:
EDUC 6001 - Educational Research in Contemporary Schools (3 hours)
EDUC 6002 - Leadership for Effective Schools (3 hours)
EDUC 6004 - Personal & Interagency Strategies for Student Success (3 hours)
NOTE: The above courses must be completed within the first 15 hours of a student's program.
PHED 6050 - Materials & Methods in Physical Education (3 hours)
or
PHED 6200 - Elementary & Secondary School Physical Education (3 hours)
or
PHED 7000 - Curriculum Planning in Physical Education (3 hours)
NOTE: Choose one of the above PHED courses. In addition, a Physical Education Capstone course (PHED 7700 - 3 hours) is required during the last two semesters of the student's program.
Elective Courses:
The remaining 5 courses (15 hours) may be from Physical Education or Education. However, it is recommended that at least 3 of the 5 courses be chosen from Physical Education.
After being admitted to the Graduate Program, the student will meet with his/her advisor to receive a Program of Study that outlines the specific course requirements.
