AREA A
Students who have mathematics or science as a teaching field must complete the core curriculum requirements
for that major. This may involve taking Pre-Calculus or calculus for the math requirement.
AREA
D
Students who have mathematics or science as a teaching field must complete the core curriculum requirements
for that major. This may involve taking two sciences (with labs) in sequence.
AREA E
All teacher education candidates are required to fulfill a US/GA History requirement. Taking HIST 2111 or
2112 will fulfill this requirement. All teacher education candidates are also required to fulfill a US/GA
Constitution requirement. Taking POLS 1101 will fulfill this requirement. Other exceptions may
apply to courses taken only at NGCSU. Meet with your education advisor for more details.
AREA F
All teacher education candidates are required to complete a foreign language at the 1002 level. This
may require taking the 1001 foreign language course depending on your previous coursework and/or
experiences.
Each student should take one content area course at the 2000 level depending on your teaching fields.
Meet with your education advisor to determine which course is appropriate.
