COURSES IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Undergraduate

MAED 4101   Methods and Materials for Secondary Mathematics Teachers - 3 hours
Corequisite: EDUC 4000. A study and practice of techniques involved in the effective guidance and instruction of mathematics students in grades 7-12.

MAED 4201  Mathematics Education Seminar - 3 hours
Prerequisite or Corequisite:  MAED 4101.  This capstone course focuses on assisting pre-service secondary mathematics teachers to make insightful connections between advanced mathematics courses and the high school mathematics they will be teaching while contributing to the mathematical understanding and pedagogical skills of pre-service teachers.

Graduate

MAED 7050 - This course provides hands-on experiences designed to link mathematics content knowledge with instructional and assessment practices appropriate for grades 7-12.  Emphasis is placed on developing familiarity and proficiency with blending mathematical theory and effective teaching practices.

MAED 7090 - This capstone course focuses on student demonstration of proficiency with merging mathematics content knowledge, instructional practices, and assessment techniques in teaching grades 7-12 mathematics.
