An unconventional canvas was utilized by the artists of North Georgia College & State University earlier this month.

The students created art-on-wheels in order to raise fund for the Appalachian Skate Klub's (A.S.K.) efforts to bring a skate park to the county.

The project resulted in dozens of colorful Celtic-inspired skateboard decks that were sold at the A.S.K. booth during the Celtic Music Festival.

Associate Professor Michael Marling de Cuellar said his students were more than happy to help.

"I just think it's important for the kids to have a place to go," he said. "And if there's something we can give back to the community then it's good."
