DAHLONEGA (May 17, 2007) –
North Georgia
College & State University’s newest group of graduates received their
degrees over a three-day period during four commencement ceremonies, May
4-6. The weekend-long conferring of degrees drew thousands of friends and
family who watched NGCSU’s 610 newest alumni walk across the commencement
stage.
For the first
time, NGCSU’s four academic schools had individual ceremonies to recognize
their graduates, who sat shoulder-to-shoulder with peers whom they knew well
from the classroom.
Lt. Gov. Casey
Cagle spoke at the May 5 commencements for the Schools of Business &
Government and Natural & Health Sciences.
“The future is
bright for each of you,” Cagle said. “You are graduating at a time of great
prosperity and great opportunity. There are many different paths that you
can take from here, paths that will lead to crucial decisions that will
affect your life and determine who you will become.”
“Your path
will change as mine did but the ultimate measure of your success will not be
what you did with your life but the manner in which you did it.”
