Greek Life
The InterFraternity Council (IFC) of North Georgia College and State University is the governing body of the six national and two local fraternities affiliated with the school. Kappa Sigma, Pi Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Nu are chapters of national or international fraternities that are represented many other colleges and universities. Sigma Omega and Sigma Theta are the only chapters of their respective organizations, thus the designation of “local”.
While each fraternity member undoubtedly thinks his chapter is the best, the IFC is committed to promoting the entire Fraternity system. You might make tons of friends to hang out with in the Corps or during class, but brotherhood goes beyond that. It is quite obvious the Fraternity system is different here from other schools. While you might not find antebellum houses with Greek letters above the door, if you look a little closer you might find brothers and experiences that will add depth to your college experience. Fraternity’s host social events, do volunteer work, and offer many opportunities for leadership. Don’t just take make grades in college; make memories.
