Recording Assignments – 2001
* all individual assignments should be between 2-3 minutes long and pair assignment should double this time.
1) Individual. Prepare a short paragraph on a famous
Hispanic person and record the passage but omitting the name of the
person. Say as much as you can about the
person so someone else who listens to your description can have enough
information to guess who you are talking about.
Make sure you refer to your book for ideas, vocabulary and pertinent
grammatical structures for the chapter.
2) In
pairs you have to create the following dialogue:
One of you traveled on a time machine and got deposited into today’s world
coming from the beginning of the 20th century. Together talk about
how things have changed, how things are better/worse, why, compare now with
yester years. Include as much vocabulary
and grammar structures from the chapter as possible.
3) Individual. Pick one of the kid’s stories listed on page 36
of your “Lectura and redacción”
book and in your own words tell me what the story is about. You will use PHOTOSTORY to create and animate
your story to share with everyone else in the class. Make sure you tell the
whole story from beginning to end. (Ask
for help in the lab if you don’t know how to work the program)
4) In
pairs talk about the value of the indigenous cultures and whether these groups
should continue fighting for the maintenance of their customs or if they should
try to integrate themselves to the dominant culture. Think of yourself as a parent of a Native American
(south American) culture with your child in the
schools today. Again include as much vocabulary and grammar structures from the
chapter as possible.
