Summer 2008 Important Information and Dates

The endorsement is taught completely online with the exception of the practicum experience that requires the student's presence in a school of choice.  This summer classes will run from June 16 to July 28th.  All instruction will be done via WEBCT/VISTA.  If you are a PLU student and not a regular NGCSU student with a VISTA ID, you need to contact instructors at least a week prior to the beginning of the endorsement.

 The endorsement consists of 3 courses:

MLAN 6100/3100: Language and Culture

MLAN 6010/3010: Linguistics

     INSTRUCTOR: Mariana Stone
 

EDUC 6022/3022: Materials and Methods   

This course requires a 30 hr.PRACTICUM at an ESOL Program.  Every summer the site for the practicum changes. You have two options:

a) Complete the 30 hrs during the summer you are taking the courses at the site chosen by us (this summer Lumpkin County High School);

b) Complete the 30 hrs. during the fall at a school of your choice and delay the completion of the endorsement until that portion of the course is completed.

Either way you need to inform the instructors as soon as possible of your plans so that we can plan accordingly.
