We can issue Call Tags to recall a package
Advantages:
- Package can weigh up to 150 lbs.
- Next day delivery is guaranteed
- If a package will fit into the drop box at the library it gets picked up at 5pm
- You can track a package on-line and you can request (for a fee) delivery Confirmation and receive the signature of the person receiving the package
- The service a very reasonable rate and we have had really good service
- You can refuse a package if it's damaged
- Insurance for the first $100 is free
Disadvantages:
- UPS usually delivers around 10:00 - 11:00 am.
- Packages received in the afternoon, to large to go in the drop box will wait until the next morning. If it is urgent, then the sender can wait by the drop box until the pickup comes. This is usually around 5pm, but waits have lasted up to 40 minutes.
- Home delivery does not guarantee you a signature. If the person is not at home the package will be left at the home.
- Packages are not forwarded but can be returned to sender if unopened, without extra charges.
- You have to pay extra for Saturday delivery
A CALL TAG
If you need to pay for another company to send the package to you, we can issue a call tag to UPS and they will pick up the package at the address we give them and deliver it to us. We will then charge the department for the delivery charges. Also works if a company sent the wrong part or book and you want the company to pay the return postage, they can issue a call tag to return the package and they pick up the shipping charge. All packages that are to be returned with call tags need to be sent to the Post Office on campus or to procurement.
