Purpose and Philosophy

North Georgia College and State University embraces the philosophy that living in a campus residence hall is an important part of a university experience. The learning that occurs through experiences in decision-making, critical thinking, and taking responsibility within the residence halls will be invaluable throughout one's life.

Are You Required to Live on Campus?

               Residency Policy

Any student who has completed less than 60 semester hours and is under the age of 21 must reside in a University residence hall if they are attempting 12 or more credit hours. Exceptions are made for students who reside with their spouse, parents, grandparents, or legal guardians within 50 miles of Dahlonega.

Housing and Meal Plans for 2009/2010

North Georgia houses women on campus in Donovan Hall, Lewis Hall, Cleve's Crossing, Terrace Towhomes, and Owen Hall. Male students currently reside in Lewis Hall, Lewis Annex, Barlowe Road, Terrace Townhomes, and Owen Hall. All traditional hall residential students are required to purchase a meal plan and are originally assigned the most economical plan, Unlimited Access Plan, which provides unlimited dining at any time when Dining Hall is open.
