Why NGCSU?

Cadet Organizations

Active participation in extracurricular activities is strongly encouraged for all cadet. For that reason, there are a multitude of organizations available to you. Whether you desire more in depth tactical training, or the discipline and skill of a nationally renowned precision drill team, or if you wish to showcase your musical talents, we've got the right organization for you! Check out the links below to find out more about each individual organization.

The Aggressor Platoon's mission is to provide realistic training in small unit, light infantry, and Ranger tactics.

If you play the bagpipes or the highland drums, we need you in The Pipes and Drums of the Boar's Head Bridgade.

North Georgia's Nationally recognized Drill Platoon.

This unique organization is the loyal guard of our nation's colors and is responsible for protecting and presenting these colors at formal reviews and Corps functions.

This distinguished military band has been performing on campus and throughout the community for over one hundred years.

The unit is sponsored by the military marching and concert department to promote interest in military mountaineering and small unit infantry tactics.

The nursing detachment is a new and thriving program offered to nursing students who wish to be a part of the Corps of Cadets.

The all male Patriot Choir performs in public venues throughout Northeast Georgia.

The Ranger Challenge team is made up of nine cadets competing against other colleges throughout the nation in events such as: patrolling, marksmanship, weapons assembly, one-rope bridge, grenade assault course, army physical fitness test, land navigation, and foot marching.

"NGCSU's Marksmanship team is the oldest sports team on campus. Currently, the team is separated into three disciplines (Intercollegiate Rifle, Intercollegiate Pistol, and Service Rifle & Pistol)."
