North Georgia is looking for Scholar, Athlete, Leaders. We define Scholar, Athlete, Leaders as prospective students who have at least a 2.5 high school GPA on a college-preparatory curriculum, a 920 SAT (480 critical reading, and 440 math), or a composite ACT score of 20 (20 in English, 18 in math), have participated in some form of organized sports, and have demonstrated the characteristics of leadership through various ways such as involvement in clubs or jobs. If you meet this criteria, we want you to come to school at NGCSU! Below are the steps that you take to become a cadet.

NOTE: WE WILL ACCEPT THE HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL MATH OR ENGLISH SCORES FROM ALL OF YOUR SATs OR ACTs.

This manual contains step-by-step instructions for preparing to become a cadet.  Please  carefully follow and comply with all instructions.  Please keep copies of any paperwork you mail to us, and likewise, please keep copies of any paperwork we mail to you.

We are your one-stop shop for questions and information regarding enrollment in the Corps of Cadets.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding what you need to do before you arrive for FROG Week and start on your road to success!

As a new cadet, whether you're a freshman, transfer student, or prior service service- member, you must attend Freshmen Orientation Group Week (FROG Week) prior to starting your first semester.  FROG Week is fun, but mentally and physically challenging.  You should immediately begin a physical fitness program designed to improve your  cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and movement.

If you change your mailing address, phone number, email address, or academic major, please call the Assistant Director of Cadet Admissions at (706) 867-2924. Also, if you do not enroll for the semester indicated in your Letter of Acceptance and wish to enroll at a different time, you must inform the Assistant Director of Cadet Admissions by letter or email of your decision in order to update your admissions record. Email cadetrecruiting@ngcsu.edu This is critically important.

If you have not been to North Georgia for a personal visit and tour, please schedule one  by calling (888) 413-9366.  Also, you should consider attending National Leadership Challenge (NLC) Weekend.  We conduct NLC once per semester.  You can find the dates, and download an application, packing list, reporting and departure instructions from our web site.  There is a link to NLC Weekend on our home page at www.ngcsu.edu

Once you arrive on campus for FROG week, the Commandant of Cadets and his staff are prepared to answer questions about schedules, uniforms, or anything else that might arise.

From all of us at the Cadet Recruitment Center, we look forward to having you as a Cadet in our world-class Corps of Cadets!

PS:  If you were accepted to another college, please let their admissions office know that you will attend North Georgia.  Likewise, if you decide not to attend North Georgia, please notify us immediately so we can give your space to someone else.

"While at NGCSU I learned how to become a successful leader by learning my job and the job of those above me. I developed and matured at a rapid rate because of what was demanded of me. At 19 it was my job to take care of my squad on an academic level as well as personal level, at all hours. As the rank got higher so did the number of responsibilities that I had to balance. I learned time management, and how to prioritize my schedule. A key part of my development as a leader was the stressful situations that I had to adapt to and overcome in order to accomplish the task at hand. It was during those times that I was tested and succeeded that I developed the confidence to know, no matter what the mission, I will be able to succeed. I owe a great deal to the cadets, NCO's, Officers, and teachers that had keys roles in teaching, coaching, and mentoring me into the leader that I am today."

- 2LT Jonathan Robinson, Platoon Leader, A CO, 1-27 Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. (Corps of Cadets Brigade Commander 2003-2004)
