SAINTS RUN STRONG AT GREATER LOUISVILLE
CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC
Louisville, Ky. - In one of the largest collegiate cross country meets in the nation, the North Georgia College & State University cross country team ran some of their best times at the 3rd Annual Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. The Saints women's team finished 33rd out of 38 teams and the Saints men's team finished 31st overall out of 41 teams.
| Junior Irina Watkins (Varkaus, Finland) lead the women's team once again with a personal best time of the year of 18:25.30 and a 5th place overall finish out of 357 runners. Knocking another minute off of her time from last weekend as junior Anna Roller (Commerce, Ga.) who finished 219th in a time of 21:51.88. Rounding out the top three individuals for North Georgia was sophomore Maricela Jacobo (Dalton, Ga.) who finished with a time of 23:32.25. Rounding out the women's team was freshman Tara Alexander (Grayson, Ga.), 23:44.63, freshman Katie Inhulsen (Powder Springs), 24:55.15, and freshman Trish Faulkner (Kennesaw, Ga.), 25:01.44. |

The Saints men's team was lead by sophomore Bryan Harris (Cleveland, Ga.) who finished 230th out of 397 runners in a time of 28:39:52. Junior Kelly Parr (Maysville, Ga.) shaved a minute off of his best time this season and placed 234th with a time of 28:43.68. Also knocking a minute off of his best time was freshman Matthew Ueltzen (Blairsville, Ga.) who finished with a time of 29:06.00 and in 257th place. Freshman Alan Schmitz (Warner Robins, Ga.), 29:10.83, junior Matt Temples (Cumming, Ga.), 29:30.49, sophomore Joseph Register (Freeport, Fla.), 30:27.52, and sophomore Tommy Stapleton (Cleveland, Ga.), 30:36.52 rounded out the men's results.
Overall, the women's race was won by Samantha Maat of Cedarville University in a time of 18:09.1 and the men's race was won by Korir Wesley of the University of Louisville in a time of 24:22.82. Southeast Missouri State and University of Louisville won the women's and men's race. |
North Georgia will be back in action on Friday as they head to Berry College to run in the Georgia Collegiate Championship. The women's race begins as 5:45 pm with the men's race to follow at 6:30 pm.
