CAUGHELL'S FIRST-HALF GOAL WINS GAME
Katie Caughell hits game-winner for second time in three games

Dahlonega, GA - Katie Caughell scored her second game-winning goal in three games to lead North Georgia College & State University to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Anderson University on a blustery Thursday evening.

After a 20-minute weather delay, the Lady Saints dominated the first half and finally got on the scoreboard when Caughell booted a ball near goal from around 30 yards out. The ball kept traveling toward goal and it beat Anderson goalkeeper Kelly Whitfield to the far post. The goal gave the Lady Saints a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute.

The Lady Saints dominated play for the entire game, getting 18 total shots in 90 minutes. The defense of Elyse Landau, Kelly Curran, Erin Cummings and Sarah Hales limited Anderson to just three shots on the night.

Leigha Terry recorded her second consecutive shutout in goal.

North Georgia (6-4-1, 2-2 PBC) returns to action in their final non-conference game of the season at Thomas University on Saturday. The game will be the final tune-up before facing 22nd-ranked Columbus State at home on October 4.
