SCHENK SIGNS WITH LADY SAINTS SOCCER

Dahlonega, Ga. – Third year head women’s soccer coach Chris Adams announced today the signing of Lauren Schenk to play soccer for North Georgia College & State University.

“Lauren is one of the top recruits in the history of the women’s soccer program here at North Georgia,” said Adams. “She will make an immediate impact on our team through her athleticism, competitiveness, and leadership.”

Schenk, a 5-7 forward and center midfielder, will graduate from J.W. Mitchell High School in Newport Richey, Fla. The four-year letter-winner was named Sunshine Athletic Conference Player of the year in 2004 and 2005 as she led JWMHS to the conference championship in her junior and senior years. She has been named to the All-Conference and All-Pasco County team the past three years while leading her to team to three All-District championships. Schenk has also led JWMHS in goals scored three years and also ranks third all-time in goals scored in Pasco County with 173. In addition to her ability on the soccer field, Schenk has been on the Honor Roll all four years in high school.

Adams added, “Lauren is a great player and captain on the field who will play as an attacking center midfielder next year. She can help us defend, but more importantly can utilize her outstanding ability to score and create goals.”
