NORTH GEORGIA DEFEATS BREWTON-PARKER 3-2 IN
WOMEN'S SOCCER ACTION

Dahlonega, Ga. - Senior midfielder Cory Orear (Dahlonega, Ga.) knocked in two goals for the Lady Saints as they defeated the Lady Barons 3-2 at the North Georgia Soccer Complex and notched another win in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Sophomore striker Meredith Lee (Lilburn, Ga.) netted the first goal for North Georgia (5-2-1, 3-0-0) off of an assist from junior defender Charis Sampson (Decatur, Ga.). Orear scored her first goal of the evening less than a minute later from a deflected pass by junior midfielder Brittny Peck (Lawrenceville, Ga.) to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.

BPC (4-3-0, 1-1-0) broke onto the board in the 36th minute when junior midfielder Ashley Meyer (Alma, Ontario) knocked the ball past North Georgia's freshman goalkeeper Kelly Conarro(Atlanta, Ga.). It was the first goal Conarro has allowed in her five wins in goal this season.

In the second half Orear struck again five minutes in off of a cross from Peck. The Lady Barons cut the lead to one when Meyer netted her second goal of the match in the 74th minute. BPC continued to attack in the final minutes of the match, but were unable to convert.

The Saints next match will be this Saturday on the road in Rome as they take on Berry College at 5:00 pm. The Lady Barons will also play on Saturday at home against Auburn Montgomery University at noon.
