AUM DEFEATES NORTH GEORGIA 2-0

MONTGOMERY, AL - The eighth-ranked Auburn University Montgomery Lady Senators, fresh off an eight-hour roundtrip visit to Hattiesburg, remained unbeaten in Southern States Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 victory over North Georgia College and State University.

Senior defender Jessie Rosa scored the game's first goal, and her first of the season, in the 15th minute as she took a pass from Victoria Ekwenuke and put it past goalkeeper Kelly Conarro.  Ekwenuke took the initial pass from Hrefna Johannesdottir off of a corner kick.

Johannesdottir added an insurance goal in the 81st minute, as she took a loose ball and put the ball in the upper corner from 25 yards out for the two goal lead.

The Lady Senators dominated from start to finish, as they recorded 31 shots and held North Georgia to just four.  They also dominated play on the offensive end, by connecting on 16 corner kicks.

Elsa Einarsdottir, still recovering from an elbow injury, recorded her sixth shutout on the season.

AUM (10-1, 6-0 SSAC) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Spring Hill College for a 1 pm game in Mobile.  The Lady Saints will remain in Montgomery as they take on Faulkner University Saturday at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.
