SAINTS SOCCER EARNS MULTIPLE CONFERENCE
HONORS FOR FALL SEASON
Coach Chris Adams Named 2004 Coach of the Year

Dahlonega, Ga. - The men and women of North Georgia College & State University soccer took home 11 All-Academic honors, two first team All-Conference, six second team All-Conference, and head coach Chris Adams was awarded the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Coach of the Year.

Five members of the Lady Saints and six members of the Saints soccer team received All-Academic recognition. For the women's team, junior midfielder Erin Alexander (White, Ga.), junior midfielder Brittny Peck (Lawrenceville, Ga.), junior midfielder Amanda Lee (Sharpsburg, Ga.), senior midfielder Cory Orear (Dahlonega, Ga.), sophomore striker Jessica Williams (Flowery Branch, Ga.), and junior defender Charis Sampson (Decatur, Ga.) were recognized for their achievement in the classroom. Junior midfielder Rene' Alvarez (Dahlonega, Ga.), junior forward Ciro Pelliccia (Conyers, Ga.), junior midfielder Drew Prentice (Young Harris, Ga.), junior defender Eric Robidou (Conyers, Ga.), sophomore defender Rik Wyatt (Peachtree City, Ga.), and sophomore defender Shawn Breinlinger (Merritt Island, Fla.) all received All-Academic honors for the men's team.

The Saints posted two members on the All-Conference first team. Alvarez scored 25 points for the North Georgia this season with nine goals and seven assists. Pelliccia lead the Saints with 14 goals, eight assists, and 36 points.

Senior defender Jackie Binford (Lawrenceville, Ga.), freshman midfielder Brittany Bruner (Snellville, Ga.), and Peck were all selected to the All-Conference second team. Making the All-Conference second team for the men was junior midfielder Jonathan Cueva (Quito, Ecuador), senior defender Jason Majors (Marietta, Ga.), and freshman midfielder Jeremy Bouasy (Demorest, Ga.).

Adams was selected as the SSAC Men's Coach of the Year for leading the Saints to a 13-3-2 overall record and a 8-1-1 record in the SSAC. North Georgia finished third in the conference and is currently ranked fifth in Region XIII. He led the Saints to the semifinals of the SSAC tournament this past weekend where they were defeated by 12th ranked Auburn University Montgomery 2-0.

Student/Athletes must be a sophomore or higher and have a 3.25 GPA to be honored on the All-Academic team. All-Conference selections and Coach of the Year are nominated and selected by the coaches of the conference.
