LADY SAINTS FALL TO TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
20-4 run midway through second half dooms Lady Saints
Orlando, FL – The North Georgia College & State University Lady Saints fell to Texas A&M Commerce 80-69 in their second game of the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic here Saturday afternoon.
Syretha Marble led the Lady Saints with 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor, while also connecting on 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Freshman Brooke Baker contributed 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the floor, and junior Megan Huffman added 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the floor (including 2-for-4 from the behind the arc).
North Georgia (0-2) shot 40.7 (24-for-59) percent from the floor, 31.6 (6-for-19) percent from behind the three-point line and 83.3 (15-for-18) percent from behind the free throw line.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M-Commerce was led by Britney Jordan with 19 points and 7 steals, while Katedria Mosley added 14 points. Rashida Wilson came off the bench to score 17 points, while Dawn Montgomery added 10 points. Kanani Marshal recorded a triple-double for the Lions with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Lions shot 45.1 (32-for-71) percent from the floor and 30.8 (4-for-13) percent from behind the three-point line.
North Georgia plays Lock Haven tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in their final game of the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic.
