WILLIAMSON SCORES 1500TH POINT AS LADY SAINTS DEFEAT ASU 60-51

Augusta, Ga. – League-leading North Georgia survived a second-half charge by ASU and improved to 11-0 in PBC play with a 60-51 victory. Senior guard Katie Williamson also hit a career milestone, scoring her 1500th career point on her first basket of the game.

After the Lady Saints took possession of the tip-off, Williamson spotted up for a three and knocked it down to score her 1500 point and give North Georgia the opening lead. Finishing the game with 11 points, Williamson's career total now stands at 1508.

Reserve Megan Huffman paced four Lady Saints in double figures with a game-high 13 points. Jeanine Dorminey and Jenica Johnson managed 10 each in the win.

Senior forward Eva Vodrazkova and freshman forward Tracey Paschal had nine points each for ASU. Junior forward Shirrell Ford grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Lady Jags, who trailed by five at the half, led for a 10:04 stretch of the second half before NGCSU responded. The Lady Jags twice had a six-point lead, the second with 8:39 left in the game. North Georgia then finished the game on a 22-7 run, holding ASU to just one field in the last 8:36 of the game.

NGCSU (15-3, 11-0 PBC) shot just 29.3 percent from the field, while ASU (7-12, 2-8 PBC) managed to shoot just 26.6 percent.

The Lady Saints will host USC Aiken on Saturday in Memorial Gymnasium for a Peach Belt Conference contest slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
