LADY SAINTS RECEIVE 14 VOTES FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK
Dahlonega, Ga. – For the ninth consecutive week, the North Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team received votes in the WBCA ESPN USA Today DII Women’s Basketball top 25.
The Lady Saints garnered 14 votes once again this week. North Georgia recently wrapped up their fifth consecutive conference championship after winning the Peach Belt Conference championship in their first season in the league. The Lady Saints have won 15 games in a row and are 22-3 overall and 18-0 in the PBC.
North Georgia will take on conference rival #21 Clayton State University this evening in their final home game of the season. The Lakers wrapped up a #1 seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament since the Lady Saints are unable to participate in the tournament due to their provisional status.
The Washburn University machine continued to roll on as they took 25 out of a possible 27 first place votes this week to remain number one with a 25-0 overall record. North Dakota kept its second place slot as well as third ranked Drury with 613 votes.
The USA Today ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 27 head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
